Internationalization Voucher for SMEs 2027: €15 million from the Lazio Region for B2B trade fairs

On 13 October 2026 the Lazio Region, through Lazio Innova, presented the Internationalization Voucher for SMEs 2027: €15 million from the ERDF Lazio 2021-2027 Programme to support regional SMEs taking part in international B2B trade fairs. The Notice has not yet been published in the regional official bulletin (BUR) and opening dates are not yet known: the details below come from the official summary sheet and news item, and the final text may refine them.

1. What it is worth

  • €15,240 per fair, non-repayable and under the de minimis regime. The figure is the sum of a €12,700 flat sum for participation and an additional 20% for staff costs.
  • Up to three fairs per SME, all starting and ending in 2027: up to €45,720 in total.
  • One project per company, as a single applicant.
What the Internationalization Voucher 2027 is worth: €15,240 per fair, up to three fairs

2. Who can apply and for which fairs

  • SMEs registered in the Italian Business Register with an operating office in Lazio can apply.
  • The fairs must be B2B and international: held abroad, or in Italy outside Lazio provided they are listed as international in the 2027 national trade fair calendar.
  • You need your own booth, under a direct contract with the organizer (abroad, also with a specialized local agency). Collective exhibition spaces and Italian intermediaries are not allowed.

3. How projects are ranked

No click day: applications, submitted on GeCoWEB Plus, enter a points-based ranking (100 points maximum).

  • International dimension (40 points): ratio of foreign to total turnover. The maximum is at 20% and falls with higher or lower values.
  • Employees (20 points): maximum at 10 employees, decreasing above and below.
  • New beneficiaries (15 points): for companies that received no grant in the three previous editions.
  • Project structure (10 points): more fairs are rewarded, with a bonus if the fair is held abroad.
  • Gender equality, young business, environmental sustainability (5 points each): for companies holding a gender equality certification, qualifying as a young business, or holding at least one environmental certification at the application date.

4. From application to payment

The grant is paid as a balance, in a single installment, on a claim submitted within 30 days of the end of the last approved fair (if the fair has already ended at the grant date, within 30 days of that date). On the platform you upload:

  • a sworn declaration certifying participation and the absence of other public funding;
  • the contract with the organizer (with the agency’s company profile, for fairs abroad);
  • a report on participation;
  • photos or video of the booth and of the promotional material distributed.
From application to payment: GeCoWEB Plus, own booth and payment claim

5. What to do now

While waiting for the Notice it is worth getting ready, because the ranking relies on data you can check right away:

  • choose the 2027 fairs and check their international status in the national calendar;
  • calculate your share of foreign turnover and number of employees;
  • check whether you hold gender equality or environmental certifications, and your de minimis headroom;
  • set up your access to GeCoWEB Plus.
