The Lazio Region has published the “Energy Efficiency and Renewables for Businesses” Call for Applications, with a budget of €40 million from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) 2021-2027 Programme, to support investments in energy saving and renewable energy production by businesses operating in the Lazio region.
BENEFICIARIES
- The intervention is aimed at businesses with an operational headquarters in Lazio.
- The production unit where the investment is planned to be carried out must have recorded total primary energy consumption of no less than 60 MWh/year in 2023.
- Businesses must also use standard accounting (accrual basis) and meet the requirements for entering into contracts with Public Administration.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
Projects must necessarily include investments to improve the energy efficiency of production processes and/or buildings, which may be complemented by investments in energy production from renewable sources.
The contribution related to investments in energy production from renewable sources — namely wind, solar, hydraulic, geothermal or marine — cannot exceed 50% of the total eligible contribution for the entire project. Each project as a whole must achieve a reduction of at least 30% in direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions compared to pre-intervention emissions.
Where investments in building energy efficiency are included, such investments must also result in a reduction of at least 30% in primary energy consumption compared to pre-intervention consumption.
Each business may submit only one project, on an individual basis.
ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
Each project must have a minimum value of €150,000. There is no maximum cap on the project value, however the maximum grant is €2,000,000.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
The procedure is on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning that grants are awarded in chronological order of application submission — therefore speed is essential.
Applications can be submitted from 16 September 2024.
